About who funds them

WFT has been created by Kim Symonds, a web developer, and David Woods, who also runs the Virtual Parliament. It is one of the projects for Democracy 2.0, an organisation promoting the use of the internet to inform and engage the public about politics and policies.

Please contact us if you require further information or would like to discuss any aspects of the project with us:

Who Funds Them is a non partisan website that brings transparency to political donations and donors. We have imported all the donation data from the Electoral Commission website, and use crowd sourcing so that the general public can research information about donors and add details of them to the website.

WFT is NOT against political donations, provided they are made without buying influence with the parties that receive the donations. The main purpose of the website is to try to provide unbiased information about donors, particularly if a donor is known to be lobbying for a particular policy or seeking a position within a political party. Any information presented on the website is intended to be purely factual, and WFT hold no view about the legitimacy of political donations. It is our hope that making this information available on-line will be used to help to crack down on donors that are attempting to buy influence.WFT is simply the vehicle for providing this information.
